Life has once again brought me to a crossroad. Don’t know which way to go.
If I go straight, a bumpy ride leads me to this satellite city of Ahmedabad which before 10 years was a village known as Bopal. If I take a right, I reach the food and shopping capital of Ahmedabad. Rows after rows of eateries serving pure veg kebabs and syrupy mocktails (these are even worse than the synthetic rasna sharbat we used to have as kids in summer) and hip-hop teenagers swinging to bhangra-pop. Soni de nakhre sone lagde menu. OMG. This right turn would definitely be a wrong one to take.
I contemplate taking a left. Oh, multiplexes. They are playing Vane Chand No Varghodo. For the uninitiated it is a latest musical by Devang Patel. Yes the same singer credited with hits like "Boom boom boom boom, chadi banyan ghoom" and other unmentionable songs (the hindi remake of who let the dogs out, remember?).
If I take a u-turn and go back, I get to watch some TV, read some interesting book. This seems like the best option. So I go back home.
In life, whenever you are at a crossroads, close your eyes and pray to God (if you not an atheist ie.) that it is not Fun Republic Char Rasta in Amdavad. Or else, you definitely will have nowhere to go.
